Add both of your parents to one photo

When both of your parents are gone, you may want them in the same picture. We add one person at a time, so this takes two runs. Here is how it goes, and what it costs.

How do I add deceased parents to a photo?

  • Pick the photo you want them in: you, your family, or you and your partner.
  • Run one: add the first parent, with a note on where they stand. Check the free preview.
  • Keep that picture. Then use it as your photo for run two.
  • Run two: add the other parent beside the first, with a new note, for example "on the left, next to Dad".
  • Check the second preview and keep the final picture.

Two runs, two pictures

You need to keep the first picture to use it again, so you keep two pictures in all: the first, and the final one with both parents. Keeping a picture costs from $6.99, and the five picture pack is $14.99. Your first previews are free, so you can try the notes before you keep anything.

Both parents appear at the age they are in your photos. If you want them side by side as they were in a certain year, pick photos from around that time.

Photo tips

  • For the person you are adding, pick a photo where their face is clear and well lit. Looking toward the camera works best.
  • Two or three photos of them from different days help the picture look more like them.
  • Old, faded or black-and-white photos are fine. The finished picture is in colour to match your family photo.
  • For the family photo, leave a little room where they would naturally stand or sit.

Questions

Can I add both parents in one go?

No. We add one person per run. Add one, keep that picture, then add the other to it.

Should I add Mom or Dad first?

Either. Start with the one who has the clearest photos, and then place the second beside them with your note.

What if my parents were never photographed together?

That is fine. Each is added from their own photos. If you have no family photo at all, the portrait option can bring separate photos into one new picture.
